For many of us, this is the time of year we crave warmth, comfort, and coziness. What better material to feature with this month’s challenge than felt? Our line of MFT felt coordinates with all of the colors in our extensive Replenishments line so crafting projects with a beautiful complement of papers, buttons, inks, and ribbon is a piece of cake. Make no mistake though, felt will be the star of the show in this collection of inspiring projects!
My first felt project today is a cute pair of felt Cozy Mitten ornaments for each of my girls:
For each mitten, I die cut two pieces of felt (on the top pair I used Sour Apple) using the Cozy Mitten Die-namics, then machine stitched them together and attached the pair together with twine. Each mitten set has a Large Royal Rose made out of coordinating felt (here, Wild Cherry):
Each mitten set has a Sweet Tooth (white) felt accent die cut (from the Cozy Mitten set), stitched on with metallic thread. The names were made by die cutting felt with my favorite new Emmitt Alphabet Die-namics and gluing them on the mittens.
On the second set of ornaments, I used Berrylicious felt for the mittens, with Razzle Berry felt accents:
My next felt project is a Santa 5x7 framed artwork, with felt Cozy Mittens:
The mittens were cut from Sweet Tooth felt and Smooth White cardstock, then stitched together for stability. The "merry christmas" Christmas Greetings was die cut from Smooth White cardstock and glittered (hopefully you can see all that lovely texture and sparkle if you click on the photo below, for a larger view).
Santa's belt was made from Vertical Stitched Strips, and the buckle was die cut from silver metallic cardstock using Square Frames Die-namics:
To give Santa's suit a little dimension, I die cut Wild Cherry cardstock with the large stitched rectangle from Blueprints 15 and poppped it up on Copic foam tape over a 5x7 base of darker Electric Red cardstock.
