Tonight I'm focusing on MFT's awesome new illustrator, Miss Tiina's, adorable and whimsical first products in her line, Trick or Treat stamp set and coordinating Die-namics:
Here are my first projects -- a card and chalkboard candy dish:
The card uses the current MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketch #188. I started with a Grape Jelly card base, then added the Diagonal Stripes Background panel stamped in Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink on Smooth White cardstock. The Sour Apple and Grape Jelly watercolored Cheesecloth accent on the left is a leftover piece I trimmed off this card. The Black Licorice panel was splattered with Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls Mist, to create a glittery night-time sky:
The Trick or Treat stretchy guy (that's what I call him!) was stamped with Black Licorice Hybrid Ink onto his coordinating Die-namics and colored with the Copic markers shown below. He is popped up on foam tape. The trick or treat sentiment from this stamp set's large sentiment was partially inked and stamped with Black Licorice Hybrid ink onto Smooth White cardstock, die cut with Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX, then watercolored with Grape Jelly and Sour Apple Premium Dye Inks. The circle elements (from Blueprints 18) were cut from Grape Jelly and Sour Apple cardstock.
Inside the card, I selectively inked and stamped part of the large sentiment onto a Grape Jelly Stitchable Dot Circle STAX die cut, backed with Sour Apple Circle STAX 1. The cute little cauldron from this stamp set was also added:
The candy dish was made using the Blueprints 17 chalkboard easel, attached to the back of the Treat Tote Die-namics.
The Treat Tote was cut from Sour Apple cardstock and stamped with the Cheesecloth Background in Sour Apple Premium Dye ink. The zombie, ghost, and spider were all stamped with Black Licorice Hybrid ink onto their coordinating Die-namics and colored with the Copic markers shown below.
Here's a view of the back of the candy dish, so you can see how it fits together. I cut a backing from Black Licorice cardstock, to make it sturdier and to have a base on which to adhere the chalkboard portion:
The easel was cut from Grape Jelly and Black Licorice cardstock. The adorable handwritten Trick or Treat sentiment was stamped with Sweet Tooth Pigment ink and chalky smudges added with more Sweet Tooth ink:
The Copic markers used on both projects:
For my next card, I went a little more clean and simple. (My apologies for the dark photo -- I was having a hard time getting a good photo of the embossing detail & brighter lighting washed it out!):
First, I stamped the cute "itsy bitsy spider" greeting with Black Licorice Hybrid Ink onto a Smooth White panel and die cut the the spider and his web. Next, I embossed the white panel with the Spider Web Cover-Up Die-namics, using MFT's Embossing Pad Combo:
You want to do your embossing last, so the die cutting doesn't smoosh out the embossed detail, and so you are not trying to stamp over the embossing. Next, I positioned the white panel over my Black Licorice card base to use as a guide, stamped the spider and his web with Versmark ink, removed the white panel and heat embossed the spdier/web with Liquid Platinum embossing powder. The white panel was then popped up over the card base with foam tape:
Please be sure to check back tomorrow, as I will have a bonus card for you, using this sweet stamp set and coordinating Die-namics with the new MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketch #189!
