The Cast and Crew for Gina K Designs welcomes you to another fabulous Inspiration Blog Hop! Gina, along with the Cast and Crew and Guest Designers, will inspire you with many beautiful ideas! And as you hop through the blogs, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a few random comments and those stampers will each win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products! To see the full list of winners check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hops.
Today's featured new February 2014 stamp sets are Folk Filigree by Becky Oehlers and Signs of Spring by Theresa Momber (click the graphics below to see these sets in the Gina K Designs store):
A coordinating Folk Filigree Silhouette free cut file download is available on the Freebies page at StampTV, here. I used it on both of these cards. What a fun set with tons of elements, to build any kind of floral scene you'd like! (Click on any photo for a larger view):
On my first card, I stamped the Thanks a Bunch sentmient and triple banner in Turquoise Sea Color Companions ink and added some sprigs and flowers to fill it in. Copic BG53 was used to color in the back parts of the ribbon banner. I used Bubblegum, Passionate Pink, Ocean Mist and Turquoise Sea Color Companions (along with Memento Pear Tart) inks to stamp the flowers along the top and bottom of the front white panel. The card base is Turquoise Sea, stamped with Beth Silaika's Lots of Washi in Turquoise Sea ink. All the pieces are popped up on foam tape.
My next Folk Filigree card is 4.25" square:
Again, the Folk Filigree Silhouette cut outs were stamped and popped up on foam tape. Aren't those sweet birds adorable?! They were stamped with Turquoise Sea and Bubblegum inks, then their wings and tails colored with Copic BG53 and R83. Their heart was stamped with Versamark onto the Silhouette cut file and then heat embossed with gold powder.
Theresa's Signs of Spring set definitely put me in the Spring mood ... that, along with the beautiful 75 degrees we're expecting today, really makes me think Spring is just around the corner!
I stamped the gorgeous Crocus with Memento Gray Flannel ink onto Gina's White Heavy Base Weight Pure Luxury cardstock and then colored them with the "Fade to White" Copic technique and the Copic Sketch markers listed below. I will have the coloring tutorial for this image over on StampTV next week, in the All About Copics Forum -- I hope you'll visit us there!
The Crocus were die cut and then Copic Y21 airbrushed around the edges of the image while it was still in the die. Strips of faux Lots of Washi were stamped in Passionate Pink, Sweet Corn and Grass Green Color Companions ink and stitched to the white card base accented with a Jelly Bean Green panel.
