The Cast and Crew for Gina K Designs welcomes you to another fabulous Inspiration Blog Hop! Gina, along with the Cast and Crew and Guest Designers, will inspire you with many beautiful ideas! And as you hop through the blogs, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a few random comments and those stampers will each win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products! To see the full list of winners check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hops.
Today's featured stamp sets are Stately Flowers 8 by Melanie Muenchinger and Lots of Washi by Beth Silaika (click on any photo for a larger view):
Both great sets, aren't they?!! Here's my first card, using the beautiful iris from Stately Flowers 8:
Be still, my heart ... you know how much I ADORE flower images -- I had SO much fun coloring this beauty! The flower and sentiment were stamped with Memento Gray Flannel ink onto Copic X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers (colors listed below).
Copic BG000 was airbrushed around the edges of the image while it was still in the die I used to cut out the image. You'll be able to find a full Copic tutorial on how I colored this image over at the Copic blog tomorrow!
Now for Lots of Washi . . . how about some watercolor fun?!!
To create this card, I smeared three colors of Gina's Color Companions ink pads (Bubblegum, Ocean Mist, and Wild Lilac) onto my non-stick craft mat and then misted them with water:
Next, I layed a piece of White Heavy Weight Pure Luxury cardstock in the color puddles and moved it around a little, picking up the color from my work surface:
Next, I stamped the row of solid diamond pattern with the Ocean Mist ink pad -- I love how the same color of ink looks lighter on the background, since it was diluted with water -- compared to the full-strength stamped ink. I stamped the row of circles with Bubblegum ink onto a different piece of plain White cardstock and tore the end to look like a piece of torn washi tape. I love all the possibilities with this set and look forward to making some faux washi tape, too!
I also love the extra little shapes included in this set -- like the tiny diamond I added to the sentiment and background of the card. The pretty Yellow Jessamine flowers were stamped with Ocean Mist ink onto White cardstock and the pretty birthday sentiment (both from Melanie's Stately Flowers 8 set) were stamped with Gina's beautiful, bold Black Color Companions ink.
