Our first featured stamp sets today are: The 3 Darling Divas by Debbie Corbari – Green Thumb, Mr. & Mrs., Rainy Day:
And the new 1 free with 3, A Little Something. Just look at this sweet set -- can you believe it's FREE?!!
I used them both on this 12" Project Life scrap page of my youngest daughter back in the Fall of 2009, when she was 7 (click on any photo for a larger view):
The Rainy Day Darling Diva started it all -- she reminded me of these photos I hadn't scrapped!
This pretty piece of My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing-Honey roses paper matched well with the umbrella my daughter was playing with in the rain, so I stamped the sentiment directly on the paper by using Memento Markers (Black, Rose Bud & Gray Flannel) to ink it in different colors:
The Diva was stamped with Memento Gray Flannel (I'm loving this color when I don't want a really bold black) onto her coordinating Rainy Day Diva Silhouette cut file (on Gina's Ivory Heavy Base Weight cardstock) and colored her with these Copic markers: R81, R83, R85 (umbrella); E00, E11 (skin); E33, E35 (hair); T3, T5 (boots & slicker accents). The clouds and rain were also lightly stamped onto the patterned paper.
I also used the other sentiment in this Diva set (stamped with Memento Gray Flannel) on the journaling card I made with Tami Mayberry's Vintage Notes stamp set (stamped in Color Companions Bubblegum Pink ink).
Since I had the roses on this page, I thought the flowers & vase from A Little Something would work nicely with some other photos I have of my daughter bringing me some flowers (which I have yet to dig out of the black hole of my computer!).
I stamped the flowers & vase onto its coordinating A Little Something Silhouette cut file with Memento Gray Flannel and colored it with Copic markers R81, R85, YG61, YG63, Y15, Y18. I cut apart the sentiment stamp so it would fit on the Passionate Pink oval die cut (Lori Whitlock Card Kit-Ornate Flower Silhouette cut file). The flowers and heart were accented with Star Dust Stickles. The die cut frames were layered onto a Bubblegum Pink cardstock mat.
