The Design Team for Gina K Designs welcomes you to another fabulous Inspiration Blog Hop, with the November release stamp sets! Gina and the Design Team will inspire you with many beautiful ideas! And as you hop through the blogs listed below, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a few random comments and those stampers will each win a Gina K Designs Grab Bag that could have anything from stamps to paper to embellishments in it! To see the list of winners check the Big News forum at Stamp TV a couple of days after the hops!
Our featured stamp sets today are Lots of Letters by Melanie Muenchinger – I’m so excited to have a Gina K alpha/number set!
And this sweet Warm Woolen Mittens by Becky Oehlers:
For my first project, I combined both stamp sets to create my December calendar:
I used Lots of Letters to spell out “december” and with the clear stamp set, it was a breeze to line up on my grid-lined acrylic block to stamp! I love this classic, simple font –- it goes well with anything and will be fabulous for scrapbooking, too! Remember, if you don't like to make calendars, you could just replace the calendar part of my project with a photo, to make this a 6-inch December scrapbook page.
The month was die cut with Spellbinders Back to Basics Tags and popped up on foam tape. I used Becky’s outline mitten stamps and stamped them onto patterned paper (MME Santa Claus) and cut them out. They are tied together with natural hemp twine that I colored with Copic R59 to match the patterned paper.
The brackets around the 25th is a stamp from Lots of Letters, also stamped in Rhubarb Stalk ink. The poinsettia accent is a die cut from the Silhouette Online Store and the calendar grid is my own handmade version -- here's a free download of November and December 2012's calendars, if you'd like to try them out: Download 2012 Grid Nov-Dec Calendars_SharonHarnist You can find 2013's calendar downloads over on my download page.
My next project is another tag for my Advent calendar, using Warm Woolen Mittens, too:
This time, I used Becky’s Warm Woolen Mittens Silhouette cut file and cut all the images out of Gina’s Ivory Layering Weight Cardstock. Then I created the pattern on the mitten die cuts with one of the patterns from Becky’s stamp set, stamped in Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink. The cuffs of the mittens were stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves. The larger pattern stamp from this set was also stamped in Rhubarb Stalk ink on the bottom of my Red Hot Heavy Base Weight Cardstock tag.
If you didn't see them last month, you can find more of my 2012 Advent Calendar tags in last month's Gina K release inspiration blog hops here: Days Two and Three. I hope to show you my finished Advent calendar by Wednesday (I didn't quite get it finished up last month)!
