Happy Halloween!

I had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful Pacific Northwest this past week, for our annual Copic team meetings in Eugene, OR. We all took a break one evening between a couple of days of planning meetings and took a gorgeous, scenic drive to the coast (Florence) for dinner . . . fun times! (Sherrie Siemens, Debbie Olson, Nancy Zenke, Lori Craig, Jenn Balcer, Me, Colleen Schaan and Marianne Walker) On Friday Jenn Balcer taught a Copic Standard Certification Class: And since my flight didn't leave until later that afternoon, I helped out Jenn and some students a little: Also in the class, from the Copic offices was Richard Owens, our inhouse online community expert, who Tweeted the above photos. JustRite Stampers November Release-Day 3

Today’s JustRite Stampers November release stamp set being featured is this cute and funky Topsy Turvy Cakes! It is a set of 20 CLEAR stamps, compatible with Spellbinders Classic Ovals-SM, Classic Ovals-LG and S5-022 Labels Ten Nestabilities: Isn’t it a fun birthday (or any kind of day to celebrate with cake!) set?!! I decided to make my cake more subdued, soft and a little shabby chic, to match these soft Webster’s Pages papers: I stamped the cake with Memento Rich Cocoa onto Neenah Natural White cardstock and colored it with these Copic markers and Atyou Spica Glitter Pens: The background behind the cake was lightly colored with BG0000. The cake image was die cut with Spellbinders Classic Oval Nestabilities and layered onto more coordinating Webster’s aqua paper die cut with Lacey Ovals. The bottom edge of the ivory card base was die cut with one of the inserts from Spellbinders Classic Ric Rac Edgeabilities and highlighted with pink adhesive gemstones. The pretty “Happy Birthday” sentiment is also from this set. My seam binding ribbon started out white but I dyed it with Copic E50-Egg Shell Various Ink Refill, so it would match my ivory cardstock. Gina K Designs October Release Inspiration Hop 2!

JustRite Friday Sketch Challenge

Happy Friday! This week's JustRite Friday Challenge has been posted and it is to use this sketch: Here’s my sample card, using JustRite's 3-1/4” Grandma’s Doilies and 2” Old Friends sets just released last week: I used a center from Grandma’s Doilies and stamped it with Memento Angel Pink ink onto the upper part of my kraft card base, to create a subtle pattern: This pretty sentiment from Old Friends was stamped with Memento Rose Bud ink onto kraft cardstock and die cut with Spellbinders Classic Circle Nestabilities. It was backed with a pink Spellbinders Ironwork Motifs die cut (glittered), which is the perfect size for these 2-inch centers! Classic Scalloped Edgeabilities were used on the lower front edge of the card. The seam binding ribbon started out light pink (the same color as the glittered die cut) and I added Copic Various Ink Refills in R81 and R22 to darken it a little, so it would match with the pretty Echo Park Victoria Gardens patterned paper better. Introducing JustRite O Christmas Tree-CLEAR!

Today we are continuing with JustRite Stampers’ October release. Today’s introduction is another set in JustRite’s new CLEAR stamp line -- O Christmas Tree, which coordinates with Spellbinders Nested Pennant dies! I decided to go a little clean and simple/graphic, so here’s my pastel Christmas card: I wanted each row of the tree to be a different color, so I stamped it in three different colors of ink three separate times on natural white cardstock, die cut each one with the medium Nested Pennant die, and then cut and pasted the different sections together to form a new tri-colored tree! The bonus here, if you are making multiples of this design, is that you can utilize all of the tree pieces on three separate cards! I added a pink die cut of Nested Lacey Pennants behind the tree, and the trunk was also die cut with a banner die from the Nested Pennants die set. Originally, I glued the colored pieces onto a tree base of creamy brown and let the row dividers/garland show through as the creamy brown, but then decided to add all the bling!
