I love working with chipboard and figuring out new ways to use it. With this card, I backed the chipboard cut-out with strips of ribbon!
My favorite Stampin' Up! blue is ballet, which is this card base layer. I wheeled it with SU's jumbo wheel, Petals, in classic ballet ink. Sentiment was stamped with white pigment/craft ink.
Chipboard flower piece was inked directly with celery craft ink and edged with white craft ink, then left to dry. Then I pierced holes all around the flower and connected the holes with white gel pen, to resemble machine stitching. The "HB" is also stamped in white craft ink and embossed with Iridescent Ice.
The easiest way I found to do the ribbon was to cut another piece of cardstock the same size as my chipboard and put a few pieces of Sticky Strip (red liner tape) on it to hold the ribbon. Then I just started laying ribbon on the cardstock/tape in a pleasing pattern of colors. Attach the ribbon & cardstock to the back of the chipboard and mount with dimensionals to card base.
