Today I'm sharing a fun watercolor emboss technique in this week's Taylored Expressions newsletter. If you are not signed up to receive TE's newsletters, you can visit their blog HERE to subscribe for future newsletters AND find an archived link to this tutorial ... I hope you'll check it out!
Today I am looking ahead to next month and the start of the holiday season -- Thanksgiving! I have this fun "Blessing Mix" recipe and gift, with custom tag over on Ellen Hutson's the CLASSroom blog . . . I hope you'll join me there to get all the details on how you can spread some Fall cheer (including the recipe)!
Happy Fall, all! Today I'm helping to ring in October and what is supposed to be Fall for most of the country ... but it's still just a tad bit warm down south where I live! Maybe this fun card will help spread a little cooler weather cheer!
(All bold products are linked below in the supply section)
I used Pink Ink's beautiful new Picket Fence Pumpkins for this breezy scene and stamped it onto an Inchie Arts NEW 2" x 4" matboard rectangle art square (called Swatches -- the come in either white or black) with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. This is a brand new size of matboard from Inchie Arts ... I think it will be a great size addition to their current line -- don't you?!!
Next, I watercolored the image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers I recently picked up from my friends at Scrap-Mart when they were in town for a papercrafting convention. This was my first time using the markers, so I had a little bit of a learning curve, but love the finished look of them! And the matboard swatch really held up well to the watercoloring! See the nice dimension the it gives the card:
I absolutely love all the fine details Peggy Ackley put into the illustration of this beautiful Fall scene ... so warm and welcoming!
The watercolored matboard swatch was adhered over Taylored Expressions Shade Tree Cutting Plate, which was cut from Neenah Desert Storm cardstock and also watercolored wtih the Zig markers. The leaves were topped with Clear Wink of Stella. Everything was attached to a cream card base. This picturesque scene really makes your Fall and Thanksgiving cards and projects a breeze to create!
Thanks so much for stopping by today ... I hope your weekend is fabulous!
Happy weekend, everyone! Can you believe over half the month is over? Halloween will be here before you know it, so I thought I would whip up some cute treat boxes to have ready to go for holiday. You can find all the juicy details for these sweet treat pillow boxes over in Ellen Hutson's the CLASSroom today . . . I hope to see you there!
Today over on the Taylored Expressions blog, I show you an easy way to add texture to clothing, along with a little self portrait framed art piece, LOL! I hope you'll join me there to see how I created it, along with the fun watercolored sunshine background!
I would also like to share a great stamp sale that's still going on over at Ellen Hutson LLCuntil the end of today (Thurs, Sep 17). Just click on the graphic below to start shopping!
Class is back in session! Today over in the CLASSroom I have a tutorial on how to create this sweet little mini album (measures approx. 4.50" x 5") that I will use to organize and keep my postage in. Or you can use if for 4" Instagram-sized photos if you'd like . . . I hope you'll join me there for all the details!
Hello, friends -- Today I have a fun recipe card to share with you (I know, it's been a while since I shared a recipe!), made with this darling new Pink Ink Baking Day stamp!
(All bold products are linked below in the supply section):
I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a large 5" x 7" recipe card I created:
Free PDF Download can be found here: Download 4-Color Printed Recipe Cards 5x7_Sharon_Harnist -- You can probably size this down to 4x6 or 3x5 when printing it, if you prefer a smaller size. I like to use photo albums to house/store my recipe cards -- they are protective and a relatively cost efficient way to store them, thus, the photo-sized custom recipe cards!
The card was printed onto Copic-friendly Neenah Solar White cardstock and the image colored with these Copic markers:
Wouldn't this make a great gift set of blank recipe cards for a baking enthusiast friend? I love this sweet retro image!
